Hallease's class on how to use Premiere Pro to edit and upload a YouTube video was phenomenal. As someone who had used iMovie to edit videos previously I was ready to give Premiere Pro a try but the complexity of the interface was (frankly) a bit intimidating and overwhelming. Hallease was able to make the Premiere Pro platform easy to understand because she didn't spend extra energy telling us about ALL of the features. The class helps you learn about the how and the WHY about working in various parts of Premiere Pro as you are actually practicing it. Hallease's choice to include footage and music for you to use rather than making you create/find/bring in your own means that not only can you jump right in and get started, you are also not sitting there agonizing about your own footage not being 'good enough' because you are just in the role of the editor, not the videographer. I have been a middle, high school, college, and adult level teacher in one capacity or another for over 15 years and I would recommend this course in any of those contexts. Simple and approachable enough for an upper middle school student with an interest in video editing, complex and satisfying enough for an adult learner who is trying to pick up new skills. True value through and through!

The A-Roll Cut

The B-Roll Cut

Then we'll put together the B-Roll cut. B-Roll is just a fancy word for supplemental footage, in our case close-ups.

Keyframing is the basis for how you design graphics in Adobe Creative Cloud. We'll walk you through the basics to create text animations and a fun photo intro.

Audio Editing

We'll build upon our keyframing knowledge to do basic audio balancing and editing.

Color Correction & Grading

Whether you're balancing your footage to have a neutral look or wanting to begin to use color to evoke a mood, we'll cover the basics so you can explore!
